Kathy Jacobs Design and Marketing is a small graphic design and marketing firm serving small businesses, Chambers of Commerce, nonprofits, and organizations connected to natural resource conservation. We help clients communicate clearly, market consistently, and connect with the audiences they serve through social media, graphic design, email marketing, websites, and digital strategy.
We are a small, hands-on team, so the right person for this role must be organized, self-motivated, professional, creative, and willing to jump in where needed.
Position Overview
Kathy Jacobs Design and Marketing is seeking a full-time, in-person Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager to lead social media strategy, content planning, scheduling, community management, reporting, and digital marketing support for our company and client accounts.
This position is ideal for someone who is both creative and analytical — someone who can develop content ideas, write strong copy, plan campaigns, record short-form video, track results, calculate ROI, and present clear, data-driven recommendations.
The Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager will work directly with Kathy Jacobs and our graphic designers to create content for Kathy Jacobs Design and Marketing and client accounts. This person will be expected to dive into the work quickly, take initiative, solve problems independently, and help build organized systems for content planning and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop social media strategies for Kathy Jacobs Design and Marketing and assigned client accounts.
- Plan and maintain social media content calendars, including a rolling three-month content schedule.
- Create, write, and schedule social media content, including posts, reels, stories, and short-form video concepts.
- Record reels and short-form video content as needed.
- Work with Kathy and the graphic design team to create visual content, campaign materials, and branded social media assets.
- Create graphics when appropriate using Canva or other approved tools.
- Schedule and publish content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts.
- Use Agorapulse to schedule content, monitor activity, track performance, and manage engagement.
- Manage community engagement, including monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and interactions as appropriate.
- Assist with email marketing tasks in Mailchimp.
- Assist with simple WordPress website updates, including text and photo changes.
- Use Google Analytics, Google Looker Studio, Agorapulse, and related tools to track campaign performance.
- Set up and monitor tracking links, UTMs, goals, and conversion-related data.
- Track and report on leads, event attendance, email signups, and other campaign goals.
- Calculate and report on ROI using advanced reporting methods where applicable.
- Create weekly reports and present results, insights, and recommendations to Kathy.
- Monitor social media trends, platform updates, content opportunities, and best practices.
- Help identify new ideas for client promotions, events, campaigns, and community engagement.
- Use Basecamp to manage tasks, projects, deadlines, and communication.
- Support other marketing, content, administrative, or project-related tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of professional social media or digital marketing experience.
- College degree required.
- Proven track record of creating and managing successful social media campaigns.
- Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience creating social media strategies and content calendars.
- Experience creating, scheduling, and managing content for multiple accounts.
- Strong working knowledge of Agorapulse.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics.
- Experience with Meta Business Suite.
- Experience with Canva.
- Experience with Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms.
- Experience with WordPress, especially simple text and photo updates.
- Ability to understand marketing data and turn it into useful recommendations.
- Ability to track leads, event attendance, email signups, and other measurable outcomes.
- Ability to calculate and explain ROI.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Professional communication skills.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Ability to find solutions, research answers, and bring ideas to the table.
- Ability to work in person at our Marietta, Georgia office Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Ability to travel locally when needed for client content, filming, or events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Google Looker Studio.
- Experience using AI tools to support content creation, research, workflow, and marketing efficiency.
- Experience working with Chambers of Commerce, small businesses, nonprofits, or conservation-related organizations.
- Experience creating or assisting with short-form video content.
- Experience building reports or dashboards that show campaign results and ROI.
- Experience with Basecamp or similar project management tools.
- Familiarity with paid social media advertising, even though this role is currently focused on organic social media.

The Ideal Candidate
The right person for this role is creative, friendly, outgoing, highly organized, and detail-oriented. They enjoy both the creative side of social media and the analytical side of measuring results.
This person should be comfortable working in a small business environment where priorities can shift and everyone helps where needed. They should be able to take direction, but they should not need hand-holding. We are looking for someone who can think independently, solve problems, research answers, offer ideas, and take ownership of their work.
A strong candidate will be able to balance strategy, content creation, reporting, and execution. They should care about doing excellent work, meeting deadlines, and helping clients see meaningful results from their marketing.
First 90 Days
Within the first 90 days, the Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager will be expected to:
- Learn Kathy Jacobs Design and Marketing’s internal processes, client types, and brand standards.
- Become familiar with active client accounts and current content needs.
- Work with Kathy to develop a three-month content schedule.
- Begin creating content, recording reels, and scheduling social media posts.
- Begin assisting with email marketing and simple WordPress updates.
- Set up or improve weekly reporting processes.
- Begin tracking key metrics, including leads, event attendance, email signups, and campaign ROI.
- Start contributing ideas and recommendations for improving content and results.
