Senior Graphic Designer & Creative Project Manager
Location: Marietta, GA (On-site)

Kathy Jacobs Design & Marketing is seeking a highly skilled Senior Graphic Designer & Creative Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings both strategic vision and hands-on creative expertise. This role blends project leadership, graphic design, copywriting, ideation, and storytelling to support a wide range of clients across industries—including Chambers of Commerce, tourism organizations, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and economic development groups.
The ideal candidate brings strong design skills, exceptional organizational skills, the ability to translate concepts into meaningful visuals and campaigns, and 5+ years of project management experience. You will lead creative development, manage multiple projects, collaborate with internal and external teams, and deliver high-quality work that aligns with client goals.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Leadership
- Manage and prioritize multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring high
–quality deliverables, timely delivery, and adherence to client deadlines. - Track project progress, timelines, and milestones across multiple workflows while staying within the allocated budget.
- Provide clear artistic vision and creative direction for the internal team.
- Lead, guide, and support team members throughout concept development, execution, and revisions.
- Oversee logistics for creative projects, including asset collection, deliverable preparation, and scheduling.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather requirements, present ideas, provide status updates, and manage expectations.
- Ensure all final deliverables meet quality standards, brand guidelines, budget, and strategic objectives.
- Proactively identify, address, and resolve project-related issues; escalate critical risks or obstacles to leadership in a timely manner to ensure project continuity and alignment with the business and the client’s objectives.

Creative Development
- Graphic design for websites, print media, ad campaigns, social media content, brand identity, and marketing materials.
- Copywriting for campaigns, digital content, blogs, and presentations.
- Concept & Ideation: Lead and contribute to brainstorms for brand experiences, activations, campaigns, and marketing initiatives.
- Visual Storytelling: Translate abstract ideas into compelling visual narratives that communicate clearly in pitch decks, presentations, and digital content.
- Develop creative solutions aligned with client goals, audience needs, and strategic insights.
- Stay updated on industry trends, design techniques, marketing strategies, and digital tools to drive ongoing innovation.
Collaboration & Continuous Learning
- Work collaboratively with designers, writers, developers, and other team members.
- Work independently when needed, bringing strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Show an interest in learning about all types of businesses and organizations to better understand client needs and industry contexts.
Required Qualifications
- Must reside in the Atlanta, GA metro area.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as a graphic designer, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in:
- Website design
- Print design
- Advertising and marketing campaigns
- Brand identity and visual storytelling
- Proficiency in:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro)
- Canva
- WordPress (basic editing + understanding of design workflows)
- AI (Gemini and ChatGPT)
- CMS tools
- Google Suite
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and front-end design parameters for web and mobile interfaces.
- Strong copywriting and content creation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple projects at a time.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics, typography, layout, and composition.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a track record of driving efficient solutions.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
- Strong time-management skills; adaptable, flexible, and positive under pressure.
- 3+ years of experience leading creative teams in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Skills (Not Required but a Plus)
- Experience with digital marketing strategy.
- Experience working with Chambers of Commerce, tourism organizations, or community-focused clients.
- Knowledge of brand strategy, creative direction, or campaign development.
- Video editing or motion graphics skills.

Most of our work is website design and development, but we also do social media marketing, email marketing, content creation, graphic design for print materials and outdoor interpretive signage, and more.
We largely work with chambers of commerce, economic development agencies, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations related to natural resources.

Compensation and Benefits
