How to Use Your Out-of-Office Email to Market Your Chamber of Commerce

I emailed the Vice President of Membership at the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance, but he was out of the office. His out-of-office automated reply email was outstanding – the perfect example of using every opportunity to market your community.

He included links to some of the feature items of their website; this makes it quite easy for someone who has emailed him to get the information they need quickly.

Email Signature

Even your email signature for everyday emails should have links to useful Chamber information.

His regular email signature includes the address and phone number of the organization, plus a link to their website and a line that says “Not a member” Join Today!” with a link to their join form.

The only things I would add are links to social media accounts in the email signature and to sign up for the Chamber’s newsletter. That way, someone who isn’t quite ready to join can follow the Chamber to see what is going on.
