Kathy Jacobs Design and Marketing has been named a winner in the 2025 GDUSA Design Awards for our work on The Greater Starkville Development Partnership Main Street Renovation Campaign, a community-focused project supporting local businesses during a major infrastructure improvement.
The GDUSA Design Awards, now in their 62nd year, recognize excellence in graphic design across all media. With more than 6,000 entries submitted nationwide, only the top 10% of projects earn this distinction.
The Main Street Renovation Campaign was created in response to the challenges businesses face during long-term road construction, which can result in revenue losses of up to 40%. Our goal was to develop a unified visual system that kept businesses visible while ensuring residents and the City of Starkville had access to clear, consistent information throughout the project.
The campaign included construction-area signage, informational binders, a ribbon-cutting invitation and program, a web page for all renovation-related information, and social media templates designed to maintain communication and engagement during each phase of the renovation. Together, these elements strengthened connections among the city, business owners, and the community.

Kathy Jacobs Design and Marketing was also recognized in the same competition for its work on the Mississippi State University SMART Bus, further reflecting our commitment to strategic, purpose-driven design.
All winning entries will appear in the GDUSA annual print and online showcase, providing national visibility and full creative credit. We are honored to receive this recognition and proud to contribute design work that supports both local businesses and community progress.
