Kathy Jacobs Design and Marketing

About Me

So what's a scientist doing writing marketing plans, designing websites, and designing marketing materials? Although my background is in forest ecology and environmental science, I discovered that I have a great appreciation and passion for marketing, design, and outreach.  This is a way that I can help people like me (small business owners, or in my case, micro business owners) make a living doing what they love as well as work with non-profit organizations.

My scientific background in science and my experience with the Extension Service has helped me to understand the types of products these groups need to convey information to their clientele.  My understanding of marketing and different technologies allows me to utilize the best media and methods possible to get the most out of your advertising dollars.

Volunteering in my community is important to me as well.  I have served on the board of Starkville in Motion as the Outreach and Education Officer, a grassroots organization dedicated to improving bike lanes, sidewalks, and trails, and have donated my time and skills to developing a marketing plan and website for Starkville Habitat for Humanity and other organizations. I also created a website Volunteer Starkville using WordPress that lists volunteer opportunities in Starkville, MS.

Designing print products and websites is a new experience every time and there is always something new to learn. Working with clients is fun and challenging; I enjoy this work; I want you to be successful and I hope it shows. Read what some of my clients have said about my design and marketing work and skills.
